Business Challenge
IndiaMart faced challenges in accurately translating product catalogs for their website, across different regions while ensuring cultural relevance. IndiaMart relied on ML based translation tools, that lacked context and, and incurred high operational costs as it required significant manual intervention. They overlooked region-specific SEO keywords, which negatively impacted visibility in local search results. Maintaining consistency in product title, descriptions, technical terms, and marketing language across multiple languages posed a constant challenge. IndiaMart needed a solution that would give context-aware translations, while helping them boost visibility to drive more traffic to the platform and enter new markets.
ShellKode Solution
To address IndiaMart’s challenges, ShellKode implemented a solution powered by Amazon Bedrock that automates and enhances the entire translation process. Leveraging the solution, IndiaMart is able to automatically generate product catalogue data and list them seamlessly on the IndiaMart website, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Data extraction: The process begins by extracting product titles and descriptions from Excel sheets. The extracted data is stored in Amazon S3 bucket, triggering the translation pipeline.
Translation powered by Amazon Bedrock: The data is then processed and translated using LLMs powered by Amazon Bedrock. The use of LLMs ensured that product catalogue data is accurately and contextually translated to the desired language.
The system was designed to be robust and optimized for handling large volumes of data, ensuring zero downtime and maximizing model performance while considering its limitations. It seamlessly processed 20 million product catalogues across various categories, all without human intervention.
SEO framework: To enhance IndiaMart’s visibility in local search results, ShellKode developed a framework that integrated region-specific SEO keywords, improving search engine rankings and driving more organic traffic.
Once the product data is translated, it is stored in S3, ready for seamless integration into the platform. The LLM-powered solution is highly scalable, supporting upto 15 lakh product data, while allowing users to seamlessly search for and view product listings and catalogs in their preferred language.
